Peace in Wroge came at a price.
The cost?
War.

Wroge was divided by the Saive War. The Arneuton kingdom enslaved the Keltir clans into their invasion, and swept across the territory, converting and culling conscripting the weak, culling the strong. Five Years of war, the blood of four races, millions of deaths. The Arneut conquered. The Keltir were released from their imprisonment, but the Vikir and Narz were forever banished from Wroge’s borders.

Draven fought for peace. He fought another man’s war and paid for his freedom in blood. But even peace comes with its price. Taxes to another man’s king. Draven’s fight might have ended with the Saive War, but the struggle to afford safety for his family is far from over.

When the Vikir threaten Wroge’s northern border they come with a debt of their own. And it’s not taxes they’re after. They come because of the Keltir’s betrayal in the Saive War. They come from blood.

But Wroge’s fate won’t be decided by ageing warriors and old grudges. The lives of four young men, divided by peace, united by conflict, will shape the future of the war torn land.

‘It Began With Ashes’ is the story of how life’s greatest struggle is to accept who you are – a tale of broken promises, bitter grudges, and brotherhoods bound in blood.

What they’re saying about it:

“The book is a fantastic escape from the dullness of every day life and I can’t wait for the next instalment. ”–BrennaRaven
%
“The characters are fun and unique, and the imagery is excellent. ”–ATA

Bookstore owner and novice antiquarian, Sebastian Kaine is proud of his new profession and even prouder still of the collection of antique books on the occult that he keeps locked away in the basement of his bookstore. But his little utopia implodes when he wakes up in that same basement, bound and bloodied, and his prized collection all but destroyed. Making matters worse are the two strange men responsible for the carnage. They want The Seals of Abgal and insist Sebastian has it. Though he denies having any knowledge of the book, Sebastian soon finds himself at the receiving end of a violent interrogation–one, he fears, he may not survive. As he fights to stay alive, Sebastian will learn that The Seals of Abgal is no ordinary grimoire, and these men are no ordinary thugs.

What they’re saying:

This book is brilliantly written and the author has a true talent of painting a picture with his words….I was in the book with the characters and every sight, sound and smell was vivid and real to me.- Beverley Hollow, 5 star review

… What a cool, engrossing story… The writer made me feel like I was right there in the basement with him” - Tania, 5 star review

“[The Seals of Abgal] is so well written and compelling that it draws the reader in and becomes impossible to put down.” ~Scott Wieczorek, Wieczorek Fiction Blog

“The city was burning…”Ten years ago, a biological weapon was detonated in Washington D.C.  killing 99.9% of the United States population.  The survivors of the  fallout live in the town of New Hope, protected by a corrupt government, from the victims that didn’t die…the infected.  Today is the day that Samantha Albright will learn that all of this is a lie.

Review from Amazon: It’s a zombie story without a zombie in sight.  It’s set three hundred  years in the future or maybe it’s right now.  Damned if I know.  What I  do know is this is one hell of a cool ride.  It starts pretty quickly  and never loses momentum.  The two main characters are easy to root for  and the main villain is very easy to hate.  There are no shades of gray  (fifty or otherwise) in this world Cronan has created.  You’re on one  side or the other and the line between the two is very clearly  dilineated.  There’s a very Alan Moore-esque feel to this and it kept me turning the pages.  This deserves your time.

^
What They’re Saying About It:
*
“I must admit I’ve been hoarding Christmas themed books from Kindle all  summer, so I was really pleased to be sent this to review.

*
This book  is a prequel to a coming series, but is completely enjoyable in its own  right Christmas story fans!  It’s complete, beginning, middle,  ending, all set around a group of friends meeting for a Christmas  meal. The opening was so kitsch and gooey, that I was just beginning to  gag, when of course it was a dream, not an easy trick to carry off, as  at this point you can lose the reader.  The dramatic tension in there in the sudden snowstorm, and the stormy relationship between Giuseppe and  Ivy.  She’s  a single girl,  looking for love, she’s a real Chick lit  heroine. but with some good hints of an odd past creeping in, setting  the path for the coming adventures – just what does Sy know?
So, enjoy and look forward to when Ivy’s adventures really begin!”

Cole Manning, a Union lieutenant serving during the height of the  American Civil War, expects a letter from his best girl who promised to wait for  him.  But her post contains an unwelcome surprise.   Heartbroken,  he vows no woman will ever fool him again.

*
Claire Hirsch’s fiancé died  in battle during the first year of the war.  Scarred by his death, she  realizes loving a soldier can only lead to heartache.  Not wanting to sit  home and mourn, she volunteers to assist doctors in the camps.

*
As  the war rages around them, Cole and Claire find solace in each other’s arms. But  is their love strong enough to overcome the fear of losing the one they  love?

*
What they’re saying about it:

“The plot was intriguing, and had  great attention to detail for the men on the front line and how they battled  their way through day after day. I really liked the dialogue between both the  heroine and heroine, as well as how they interacted with the secondary  characters because it revealed quite well how a nurse handled the pressures of  looking after a soldier when he was wounded and how protective the soldiers were  of each other when dealing with the enemy. The sex scenes were great and just  right for Claire didn’t have any experience when it came to men, so Cole treated  her perfectly….this tale of times at war and romance has given me a love for  the Historical genre, and I can’t wait to read more books like this one in the  future.” ~ The Romance Studio

When Civil War reenactor, Kyle Dalton, keeps seeing a  beautiful woman on the battlefield tending to soldiers, he thinks she’s another  reenactor. But when she disappears into thin air, he starts to believe he’s seen  a ghost. Did he have a past life with this woman?
*
What they’re saying  about it:
*
Dreaming Josie is such an incredible read. I loved it and was  sorry to see it end. Loved learning about the Civil War re-en-actors. But the  best part was the love between Josie and Kyle that came through time. Such a  romantic story.
*
I loved Dreaming Josie. It’s a great love story with  paranormal elements. I love the way Ms. Macatee switches between the present  time and the past. The switches are done seamlessly and kept me reading. I  couldn’t put this book down. The information about the Civil War reenacters is  very interesting. I wish I could have gotten to know the present-day heroine a  little better. This book is too short. I wanted to keep reading. This would make  an excellent full-length novel if the author chose to do that. I highly  recommend Dreaming Josie.
